Subaru Legacy STI
Subaru Technical International (STi) is the tuning arm that gives magical touch
on the Legacy to make a remarkably capable sedan. STi's bonnet houses a 2.0-liter
twin turbo that has been retuned to produce 290 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 253
lb-ft of torque at 5600 rpm. STi's six-speed gearbox drives the Legacy from 0-60
mph in 5.6 seconds. STi also uses the Impreza's Brembo brakes to make the Legacy
cope with the extra performance.
STi also give the Legacy's chassis a detailed renovation. Compared with the standard
car, its ride height has been decreased by 10 mm. It now comes with available
cross-spoke alloys, front and rear limited slip differentials and a new and faster
steering rack. To harmonize its enhanced performance, STi stylists added an Impreza-style
air intake in the bonnet, matched by deep side skirts. The front bumper is new
and is offered with spot lights.
The Legacy sports a roomy interior with an extra large Momo steering wheel and
leather and alcantara seats that looks handsome and feels comfortable. Compared
to Impreza, Legacy's reactions are less manic and providing its better ride quality
is its longer wheelbase. It is immensely impressive as a high-speed cruiser with
an additional blend of nimbleness.
