2000 Subaru Legacy
Being known as a manufacturer of tough cars with stable all-wheel drive system
that provides more safety in highway cruise and performs well in light-duty off-road
use, Subaru launched its entirely new, third-generation line-up of Legacy sedans
and wagons for 2000 model year. Subaru Legacy lineup for the year 2000 is made
up of three sedans (L, GT and GT Limited) and three station wagons (Brighton,
L and GT). All models are equipped with Subaru's 2.5-liter four-cylinder boxer
engine that cranks out 165 horsepower. The available five-speed manual transmission
is standard while a four-speed electronically controlled automatic is optional.

2000 Subaru Legacy comes with a high trunk line that provides a distinguishing
look, aids the vehicle's aerodynamics and boosts cargo capacity. It has a low
hoodline that lends the car a wedge-shaped appearance. Its relatively long cabin
houses decent size doors and a reasonably low belt line. Providing the car with
the sporty look of a coupe are the pillarless door windows that seems to be unusual
in a four-door sedan. A big grille and large headlights can easily be noticed
in front of the car.
For this year, Subaru Legacy also comes with a new multi-link rear suspension
and rigid body structure that improved the car's responsiveness. Also, this year's
Legacy has been made slightly longer and wider. Legacy receives a significantly
redesigned interior for 2000 model year. It gives a much tighter environment for
the driver, making the switches and controls within easy reach of the driver.
The instrument pod houses four round gauges - a large tachometer and speedometer
and smaller fuel gauge and water temperature gauge that are all well shaded, making
them very legible in any lighting situation. The climate and radio control are
all conveniently located in the center console.
